Living in Bavaria is fun because the Free State has a lot to offer its inhabitants. Munich, for example, is one of the major cities with the highest quality of life in the world. In a study conducted by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, the Bavarian state capital ranks third out of the 231 cities surveyed. Nuremberg ranks 23rd, which is a respectable eleven places above San Francisco, the top-ranked US city.
Life in Bavaria is also a joy due to its extensive cultural offerings. This includes theater and cinema performances as well as readings by authors and other events – also in English.
In addition, Bavaria offers a diverse landscape, historical places and a wide range of recreational and outdoor opportunities. The Alps, with its multitude of summer and winter sporting activities, is practically on Munich's doorstep.
