Support for the Economy

Bavaria has developed from an agricultural state to a high-tech and service provider location in just a few decades, thanks to the performance and innovativeness of the companies located here. Essential support came from the Bavarian state government and local authorities, as well as regional and local institutions, trade associations and economic development chambers.
The Bavarian state government created reliable and business-friendly conditions and thereby laid the essential political foundation so Bavaria could develop into one of the premier business locations in Europe. Institutions, as well as bank associations, trade organizations and economic development chambers, made essential contributions so that a particularly business- and innovation-friendly climate could prevail in Bavaria. Participating in this effort were the local chambers of commerce, the economic and employment departments of the cities and communities, as well as “Invest in Bavaria”, the settlement and location marketing initiative of the Bavarian ministry of economics affairs. They provide streamlined help to investors and local companies – and thereby strengthen the financial center as well.

Innovative businesses benefit, above all, from the fact that two of the most important institutions for the protection of intellectual property are domiciled in Munich – the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.
