Oberbank
Headquartered in Linz, Austria, Oberbank was founded in 1869 by Carl Franz Planck. Its original name was "Bank für Oberösterreich und Salzburg". Oberbank is thus the oldest joint stock bank in Austria.
Oberbank is part of a
three-bank group whose other members are affiliates Bank für Tirol und
Vorarlberg (BTV) and Bank für Kärnten und Steiermark (BKS). The group is
active
throughout Austria and neighboring countries. Oberbank is a commercial
and
universal bank providing corporate and private customers - with the
latter
constituting a main sector of activity - based in the Danubian basin and
particularly in the region encompassing Munich and Vienna with a
comprehensive
range of products and services.
Its balance sheet sum of €14 billion makes Oberbank one of the ten largest banks in Austria. Oberbank is an independently owned and dynamically-developing bank which has devoted itself to serving its region, which represents the heart of Europe. The bank has a staff of 1,900.
