Institute of Capital Market Research and Finance

The investment decisions of institutional and private investors as well as the financial and risk management of companies are in the spotlight of research and teaching of the Institute of Capital Market Research and Finance, Munich School of Management at Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich.
In particular the KMF-Team gets involved in issues about the construction of innovative derivatives and modern financial and risk management instruments for established as well as for not listed companies. KMF analysis new market developments, regulations and trends in the field of investments, alternative financial instruments and the development of modern financial instruments as e.g. mezzanine capital, preps, hedgefonds and asset backed securities.

The institute furthermore participates in the Anglo-German Biotech Observatory, a joint project of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University and the University of Exeter (UK) supported by the "Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft" (DFG) and the "Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung". For the first time, an extensive empirical research project analyses which strategies, organizational and financial structures are built up by German and British biotechnology companies to successfully launch their products.

Within the capital market colloquium decision makers of the banking and finance sector give lectures and put their thesis up for discussion. In the exclusive, smaller group of the Munich Forum for Asset and Risk Management, renowned experts report about particular aspects and new trends in the field of portfolio and risk management.
