Investing in professional education secures quality

30. Aug 2010 by Sparkassenverband Bayern

To be successful, banks have to offer a high quality of services in all phases of operation, including customer and back-office ones. Well aware of this, savings and other banks (including credit unions and private banks) have a long track record of equipping professional education and qualification programs with the resources enabling them to instill in young persons the skills preparing them to take on a wide variety of occupations. The graduates of these programs of banking specialization are experts in meeting customer needs and employing advanced media and technologies.

In 2010, new enrollment at the programs of professional education maintained by Bavaria’s savings banks amounted to 1,369 people, up 3.2% from the previous year.

Total enrollment came in 2009 to 3,557 people (up 5.2% on a y-on-y basis). Of them, 60% were women. The further increase in enrollment registered in 2010 provides an indication of the geographic (Bavaria-wide) and professional scope of the professional education programs offered by Bavaria’s savings banks. A precondition for enrollment is a high school diploma.
In 2009, 1,059 people complete programs of professional education staged by Bavaria’s savings banks. The hand-on, as needed-approach taken by the savings bank manifested itself in the fact that nearly every graduate had a job waiting for her or him in the region, provided that she or he had the appropriate qualifications.
