Munich remains the safest city in Germany

Munich is the safest major city in Germany, reports the study recently
released by Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office. Confirming past
years' results and cited in the country’s “Focus” newsweekly, the study
evaluated statistics on criminality in 80 major (each with a population
greater than 100,000) cities. The study ranked Munich 68th in the
category of “risk of being a victim of crime”. This was by far the best
result of any of Germany’s large-sized cities – and better even than
many of the country’s smaller ones. Also ranking highly was Fürth,
giving the state of Bavaria another top finisher in the study.
By way of contrast: among the country’s major cities, Frankfurt am Main
has the highest rate of criminality, states the latest study.
