Munich: best real estate investment in Europe

by Finanzplatz München Initiative

“Best real estate investment in Europe”. Each year, Europe’s 27 leading cities vie for this prestigious title, which is awarded by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the Urban Land Institute. To do such, these organizations poll 640 international real estate investors and experts.

Repeating and even improving upon 2009’s performance (by increasing its ranking from 5.51 to 5.61), Munich finished first in “Emerging Trends in European Real Estate in 2010“. Reasons cited: the city’s unsurpassed crisis-beating ability to sustain value in all areas of the real estate market, including office (cited by 33.8% of the experts as being an attractive investment) and retailing spaces (29.6%) and housing (21.8%). Munich was also listed as being best positioned to offer a satisfactory yield on investments in the years to come.
