Munich Risk and Insurance Center
The Munich Risk and Insurance Center (MRIC) was founded in February 2010 to support research and teaching activities in the field of risk and insurance. The center serves as an umbrella over several insurance scholars working in Munich with well-established networks all over the world.
The MRIC aims to bundle these competences, enhance Munich’s international visibility as an important insurance research and teaching location and provide infrastructure for an active exchange between theory and practice. Fireside discussions, seminar series, study projects supported by firms and provision of career advice are among the events and services offered in order to increase the attractiveness of the area of insurance for students. The choice of research topics is characterized by close attention to the different perspectives on the subject, in particular integrating the economics of insurance, actuarial science and insurance law.
Further information about the business areas and members can be found on the Institute's website.
